San Francisco Ferry Building
San
Francisco’s Ferry Building is located on San Francisco Bay in an area
known as the Embarcadero. The building is part of old historic San
Francisco and was left to decay until it’s complete restoration completed
in 2004. The Ferry Building has now become a gourmet and organic food and
beverage marketplace offering everything from French pastries to caviar to
authentic gelato, a gourmet hamburger joint and even a California wine
bar.
No
matter what your style of travel, luxury, value, bohemian or family, the
Ferry Building is worth a visit.
It can
be reached by cable car and then a short walk to the Embarcadero or by
trolley. If you insist, you can bring your car and there is a lot with
some parking validations available depending on what you spend.
The
Ferry Building is easy to spot because of it’s distinctive clock tower
modeled after the Giralda bell tower of Seville Spain, which was itself
build in the twelfth century.
